IS IT BETTER TO PIERCE YOUR EAR WITH A GUN OR A NEEDLE?<\/h3>

This question is often asked by people who do not have any piercings or have never been to a professional piercer.<\/p>

It is usually the ear where the gun is most commonly used, as it was designed for lobe piercing, although it is also used for cartilage piercing such as Helix and some others .....<\/p>

  1. Needle piercing is infinitely more hygienic than gun piercing because the needle is sterile and disposable, while the plastic parts of the gun do not allow for sterilisation.<\/li>
  2. Moreover, no matter how much the gun is disinfected, it is the same for everyone, in the case of the needle it is one per customer.<\/li>
  3. When you pierce yourself with a gun, it is the earring that acts as a \"needle\" and penetrates your tissue, as it does not have an edge, it penetrates and tears the tissue in question, unlike the needle which has an edge and is hollow inside, therefore, when it penetrates the skin it does not cause trauma.<\/li>
  4. The healing time of the piercing is usually longer when piercing with a gun than with a needle.<\/li>
  5. There is a high risk of infection, both because the jewellery is often not of high quality as they do not use 316 L Surgical Steel or Titanium.<\/li>
  6. When piercing with a gun the earring is usually of a standard size, but with the needle you can put one of the size that your anatomy needs and this way it will never be too tight and your piercing will heal better.<\/li>
  7. \u00a0The jewellery usually used by piercers is very thin (usually 0.8mm), this does not allow your piercing to heal properly, and it will be difficult to find good quality piercings with such a thin thickness in the future, as these are usually made in thicknesses of 16g (1.2mm) for helix, high lobe and tragus piercings.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/li>
  8. Many of these piercings are performed in pharmacies or clothing or accessory shops, where there is no space set up for this activity and the person who performs the piercing has no specific training in body piercing.<\/li>
  9. There are options on the market for disposable guns, which are basically the same as the normal gun, only they generate much more contamination as for each piercing a new one is used and does basically the same thing, tear the ear tissue.<\/li>
